EMDI has helped me grow not only in the Events industry but also as a person. They have gotten us events such as IIFA, Vir Das’ Netflix special, etc. Through EMDI, we have learned a lot about the events and entertainment industry but not only theoretically but also practically by working on multiple projects on the field! Thank you EMDI♥️

A strong foundation is really important towards a strong and long career and EMDI gave me that. Looking at my career in the experiential world I realised that the most important move was back in 2011 when I enrolled at EMDI. The journey has been fun and exciting and I expect nothing different in the years to come.

          SWAT

          ‘a students initiative’
An annual initiative run by EMDI students aimed at stopping youngsters from taking the first step towards tobacco consumption

          Key Facts About Swat

          • Launched in 2004, this successful Annual EMDI Event is a youth-oriented initiative to educate and empower youngsters to fight against TOBACCO, a powerful killer.
          • The objective is not to alienate users of tobacco, but show how the urge to use tobacco can be controlled by way of creative activities like, painting, writing thinking of innovative ideas, acting and physical exercise.
          • Spread over a week, the event communicates that usage of tobacco can be controllable and with a positive take on life ‘YOU CAN QUIT’

          The Need for Swat

          • Numerous studies have shown that students in the age group 14-21 are most susceptible to being introduced to tobacco.
          • More importantly, studies have proven that individuals who have not tried a cigarette by the age of 21 are most unlikely to ever start smoking.
          • The dissemination of information on the dangers of smoking is best be conducted by students themselves, rather than by adults.

          Objectives of Swat

          • Identify the law-breakers: prevent sales of cigarettes near educational institutions, prevent sales of cigarettes to minors.
          • Find ways to make not smoking “cool” or smoking “uncool”.
          • Get first hand experience on planning and executing an event from scratch.
